“ I returned back here after a long hiatus away and it was another solid and pleasant meal. For a starter, the sauteed broccoli rabe ($12.95) was ordered. It came with sweet Italian sausage, diced tomatoes, and hot cherry peppers. This was a nice combination of flavors. I would have liked to see a little more of everything, but not a big deal. The broccoli rabe was cooked great as most of the bitterness was gone. For an entrée, I had the fire roasted branzino ($36). It came with arugula, grape tomatoes, red onions, and olives. The branzino was cooked ideally with a crisp skin and flaky inside. The seasoning was just right, and the other components really went together pleasantly especially the presence of the olives. I also tried the spicy sushi pizza and mussels with spicy coconut broth, which some one ordered both as a meal. The tuna was served on a crispy rice patty with sriracha aioli and a soy ginger reduction. The sriracha aioli definitely gave this a little heat. The rice patty could have been a tad crispier. The mussels were alright to me. The coconut broth was not spicy at all and had too much of a coconut flavor to me with no balance. There were a ton of mussels to this order though, might have been three dozen! For dessert, the s'mores brownie was ordered. It was a warm chocolate chip walnut brownie with French vanilla ice cream, a toasted marshmallow and graham cracker crumble with a drizzle of chocolate syrup. This was a great ending to the meal. The brownie was soft and chocolatey, and the ice cream provided the needed cold and creamy element. The huge, toasted marshmallow was a nice touch too. ”

“ This is the second year I had Martinsville Tavern cater my New Year's Day dinner. It was spectacular. The guests raved about the impeccably tender hanger steak, the beautiful cod, and chicken Francese which is the best recipe in hands down in the area. The food was delivered on schedule to my home, and the wonderful sauces and country bread added to the beauty of the presentation. It was just as good as dinning there, Castro the owner guided me well in terms of quantity and menu. Their halibut for dinner, if you're lucky to get it on the menu is really special and of course pricey. But it is good. Lunch, dinner, or a catered event is highly recommended at/by Martinsville Tavern. ”

“ As always looking for new restaurants to try n came upon Martinsville tavern n thought We'd stop by for dinner. Was a 45 min scenic drive. Nice cute place. Must be popular although we made reservations had to wait for @ 20 mins to be seated. We ordered the house special salad w watermelon, crab cake n calamari for appetizer. The salad was different but very good n refreshing. Had watermelon, yellow peppers, feta cheese n arugula. The crab cake n calamari were v good too. For entrees we had the fire roasted branzino, short rib ravioli and chicken parmigiana. They were all very good n generous portions . Not a morsel left. We topped it off w skillet cookie w ice cream and smores brownie. They were heavenly. Thank you for a great delicious dinner. Will certainly come back again ”

“ We came here for Valentines Day for the first time and we came early. They had a nice touch giving each guest a single stem red rose. I would give three and a half stars if I could. The ambience is very cozy and Tavern-like. They did have the dining areas packed to maximize seating so it did feel a little cramped. We ordered starters: I got the special of the night - Lobster Bisque and my wife had a Caesar salad. The soup was decent but the salad was just ok. For entrees I tried the braised short ribs with a whipped mashed potatoes and spicy Brussels sprouts. The beef was tough and needed longer to cook. The potatoes were like something from my mother-in-laws nursing home. The sauce was good. I like the flavor of the dish but each element was just sub par to my standards given the prices. My wife got the beef medallions with blue cheese and potatoes and asparagus. All were ok just not amazing. The big disappointment was dessert. because we tried to order the only chocolate item on the dessert menu which was a chocolate lava cake and we're told they were out of it - at 5:30pm on Valentines Day. We got an apple tart but as soon as we bit into it it tasted weird - like freezer burn. The server brought a different dessert with soggy pretzels and ice cream. Mixed bag. Not sure we would come back. ”

“ OMG, What a great find after driving past for the longest time. With Valet parking to make it convenient the list of things that the staff does for you is endless. The menu is unique and fresh. I had the most delicious Pork Chop for dinner and my wife enjoyed the Pasta with Broccoli Rabe and sausage. I tasted hers and while mine was sensational, I was immediately jealous. We had our grandkids with us and they catered to them with Pasta and Meatballs. My son enjoyed a steak and loved his as well. We skipped dessert as we were going for ice cream nearby but as you leave try the tiny candies at the door. They were unique and delicious. The restaurant is built on two levels but has a great view no matter where you sit. Martinsville Tavern, I can't wait to try you again real soon. ”

“ Loved this place! We sat at the upper level bar area. It felt so cozy and authentic . If the walls could talk, they'd say some great secrets. Staff was happy, Mgrs. look please if everything was Flawless. I admired their exquisite bar wall. Loads of carefully selected priceless bottles. We ordered a burger to share between the 3 of us. As we were on our 2nd stop of bar hopping. The burger didn't not disappoint. It was cooked perfectly. It was moist and not to heavy. We gave it a long nod and we agreed it was a delicious 5. We would come back. This is a hidden gem. As we were leaving, the live music was being setup. We will remember on next trip to stay longer. This place is very welcoming. I like the ”
